architects: kotaro ide/ARTechnic architects. location: kitasaku, nagano, japan. a large shell-shaped structure finds itself in the middle of the woods. the regions' low temperatures and high humidity level makes for a harsh climate. as a result, many traditional houses in the area are decaying. despite the avoidance of concrete as a building material in the past, this structure has been designed as a contemporary solution to the humidity.
